Silver Small
Whenever I start up my computer on my desktop there is a small white silver bordered square.What is it?
When I turn on my computer,on my desktop there is a small white square with a silver border.It is moveable.It always appears in the top left corner of my screen.Does anyone know what it is?If the discription doesn’t help,I have a screenshot of it.It can be found here:

thanks,I’m pretty sure it was that.I keep getting pop ups from “outer info” and ever since that was there,the pop ups were there.Thankyou very much!
THANKS FOR THE SCREENSHOT! Well, in my opinion, its an incomplete prompt or dialogue box, given its color, shape, and the fact that you can move it around. I assume it was maliciously installed from something you downloaded from limewire like a song, or a program, don’t lie, I see the limewire icon on your desktop : ) It doesn’t look like something problematic of a virus, but it could be spyware or adware. Are you on a DSL or satelite hookup? If so then your internet connects everytime your comp starts up, the spyware or adware executes, and you get a prompt from windows that’s trying to tell you something is trying to connect or send info through the internet, the spyware or adware program cuts off the windows execution, and you get an incomplete windows dialogue box.
Solution: Update all of your anti-virus software, pop-up blocker, and anti-spyware programs… if you don’t have it get the latest version, there are some free spyware programs but I prefer going to a computer store. Run each program, hopefully they’ll find software that’s causing it, and delete it. Restart your computer and see what happens. If it doesn’t solve the problem, look into installing your operating system to start fresh. Then add some antivirus, antispyware, and popup blocker software.
